Why knots

My father knew how to tie almost anything down.

My dad, Rick — "Ricky" to the people who loved him — spent his career as a U.S. Navy Master Chief Diver. He kept a board of knots, nearly every kind he'd learned to tie over the years. A knot only does its job if it holds — through weather, through time, through being pulled on hard.

That's the idea behind this. A handwritten recipe, a note, anything written in someone's actual hand — once it's gone, it's gone for good. This is my attempt to tie a few of those things down so they don't have to be.

How it works

Three steps, start to finish.

i.

Send a photo

A clear picture of the handwritten recipe — or note, or letter — you want kept.

ii.

Pick a keepsake

Right now, one design: linen and pressed botanical, made to hold handwriting front and center.

iii.

Get it back, printable

A finished card, front and back, ready to print at home or frame as-is.

The keepsake

Two sides. The recipe, and the story.

The front holds the handwriting exactly as it was written. The back carries the details that make it easy to actually cook from — the recipe name, who it's from, and the ingredients and steps, laid out clean.
